Mixma was founded in 2017 and is owned by Christopher Carlyle Kinlaw, a class of 2010 alumnus of the Savannah College of Art and Design architecture program. Below is a statement from the founder.
The core of the Mixma philosophy is about freedom and independence. This philosophy runs the gamut from the way we interact with and treat our carpenters, metalworkers, stone carving artisans, etc, to the way we work with clients. Mixma is based in Mexico, a country with a long history of manufacturing and multi-generational craftspeople. Many of those that work for Mixma hail from small working class industrial communities where they have followed in the footsteps of their parents and grandparents in the furtherance of the family occupation.
